FINISH THE 5TH

In 2017, Over the Edge for VINE raised over $80,000 to put towards finishing the 5th Floor of the VINE Adult Community Center. In 2018, we raised over $70,000. Construction will soon begin to expand our Fitness Center to the 5th floor, but we still need more money to add additional meeting, exercises and studio space.

Over the Edge for VINE is an exciting fundraiser that gives individuals the chance to raise money to help finish the 5th floor of the VINE Adult Community Center, in exchange for the opportunity to rappel from the roof. Over 150 people have raised nearly 200,000 to help us finish the 5th floor of our building. Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters for helping us on this crazy adventure.

What is VINE?

VINE Faith in Action was established in 1995, as an interfaith volunteer caregiving organization serving older adults, people with disabilities and individuals and families encountering difficult life situations.

Over the years, staff and programs have been added allowing VINE to assist with chores, meal on wheels, transportation, adult literacy, medical equipment rental, caregiver support, adult respite and an adult community center where aging adults can improve their physical health, socialize with peers and exercise their mind. Throughout its growth, VINE has remained true to its mission to promote quality of life and a culture of caring, sustained by volunteerism, community engagement and support for neighbors in need.

FAQ

Are there any age or weight restrictions?

We do not have any age restrictions, however, if you are under the age of 18, you’ll need a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Participants must weigh between 100-300 lbs. to safely rappel down the building.

What time do I rappel on Saturday?

Rappel times will be based on when you raise your $1,000. As soon as you reach your goal, you’ll get the opportunity to pick a time to rappel. The sooner you raise your $1,000 the more likely you are to get your desired time. You may also fill out a credit card guarantee form, which will secure your spot before you reach $1,000 and allow you to choose a time before then.

Can I still rappel if I have special needs?

Absolutely, we can accommodate almost all special needs, we just need to know in advance so we can properly prepare.
